The album’s sound features a darker and heavier tone compared to Swift’s previous projects, delving into her vulnerable side.Reputation received generally positive reviews from music critics and reached number one in many countries. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, Reputation was the second best-selling album of 2017 with global sales of 4.5 million copies worldwide. To promote the album, Swift embarked on the Reputation Stadium Tour, starting on May 8, 2018 and ended on November 21 of the same year.
